We are seeking a highly qualified and passionate academic leader to join our team as an Associate Professor in the field of Paramedic Science. The ideal candidate will have a PhD (or equivalent), plus significant experience in the Paramedic Science field.
 

The Associate Professor of Paramedic Science will have strong research credentials and will join a School that has built a world-class teaching environment for paramedic sciences. As an experienced academic leader, you will exercise a special responsibility in fostering excellence within the Paramedic team across the spectrum of research, teaching, professional activities and policy development. This position will contribute to multidisciplinary initiatives and research impact. Sophisticated interpersonal skills will be essential in developing and maintaining links between disciplines, the industry, professional groups, and the wider community.

Position Requirements

 

  • Hold doctoral qualifications (PhD or equivalent) plus significant experience in paramedicine or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated capacity to attract competitive external funding grants and the ability to engage in research relevant to paramedic science.
  • Well-developed understanding of the academic research process, as evidenced by an extensive research publication record.
  • Making a distinguished personal contribution to the conduct of research at all levels.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to undertake a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching / Education.
  • Familiarity with University standards, academic writing, research and assessment regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate paramedic science students using flexible delivery systems.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of low to high fidelity clinical simulation.
  • Demonstrated ability to make a positive contribution to a team culture, through effective communication, interpersonal skills and a commitment to mentoring colleagues.
