As an International Short Program Student Ambassador, you will play a key role in welcoming and supporting international students participating in short-term academic and cultural programs at CQUniversity.  Under the guidance of the Partnerships and Mobility Coordinator, you will assist with workshops, cultural, social and recreational activities.

 

You will be an enthusiastic and empathetic peer leader and role model, fostering a positive and inclusive environment that enhances the overall experience. Your engagement will contribute to a memorable and enriching journey for every visiting student, promoting cross-cultural understanding. Typical activities and responsibilities will include:

 

  • promoting student participation in activities by encouraging involvement and creating a welcoming, energetic atmosphere.
  • supporting workshops and informal learning by assisting facilitators and helping students engage with course content, specifically in gaining confidence in spoken English
  • accompanying students on cultural, social, and recreational excursions, proactively ensuring their safety, engagement, and enjoyment.
  • fostering an inclusive and respectful environment that encourages cross-cultural exchange and supports diverse needs of groups
  • acting as a positive peer role model, demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm, and empathy in all interactions.
  • assisting with the logistical coordination of activities and excursions, including group management and active team communication.
  • assisting with orientation and graduation ceremonies, including room and technical set ups.
  • contributing to post-tour feedback and reflection, offering insights to improve future short program experiences.

Position Requirements

 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to support diverse student needs.
  • Experienced in maintaining records, recording logistical data, and reporting for program activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with staff and peers.
  • Ability to assist with scheduling, preparation, and smooth delivery of workshops, excursions.
