The Jawun Research Institute is dedicated to advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leadership and self-determination in health and research, with a focus on improving access to genetic healthcare and translating research into real-world outcomes. The Institute works collaboratively across universities, health services, and community-controlled organisations to drive impactful, culturally informed initiatives.
As a key member of the research team, you will support the delivery of national projects focused on integrated genetic healthcare. You will coordinate project activities, contribute to research outputs, and engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, as well as health and policy stakeholders, to support co-design and collaboration. Your work will help ensure projects are well-managed, ethically sound, and deliver meaningful outcomes.
We are seeking a proactive and culturally aware professional with experience in research support, stakeholder engagement, and administration. You will confidently manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records, support ethics and governance processes, and contribute to high-quality reporting, funding submissions, and research outputs.

Position Requirements
- Experience supporting research, health, or community initiatives, including working with stakeholders to design and deliver projects.
- Ability to support co-design and delivery of projects, including stakeholder engagement across sectors.
- Experience with research governance processes, including ethics and compliance requirements.
- Strong administrative skills, including data management, reporting, and use of systems with the ability to support research outputs and submissions.
- Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and across diverse cultural contexts.
