The Jawun Research Institute is a national focus in Indigenous health equity research, partnering with communities, services, government and industry across Australia and internationally to drive impactful, applied research grounded in Indigenous sovereignty, leadership and nation‑building.
As a Research Worker, you will assist with participant recruitment, qualitative and quantitative data collection, and coordination of in‑person training for mental health professionals. This position works closely with the study sites in Brisbane Metro North and Metro South Health and Hospital Services.
In this role, you will engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders, organising stakeholder meetings, contributing to data analysis and reporting, and maintaining accurate administrative and records‑management processes. You’ll contribute to data analysis, reporting and a range of administrative tasks while supporting the wider Jawun Research Institute team.

Position Requirements
- Qualifications equivalent to a completed degree with no prior experience, or a diploma/certificate with relevant work experience, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
- Experience recruiting and interviewing patients and health providers for research, along with accurately collecting, collating, storing and reporting research data.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience engaging respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and stakeholders.
- Knowledge and proficiency in research project management support e.g. research budgets, data collection and analysis, report dissemination. (Desirable)
