  • Associate Professor (Academic D) - Total Remuneration $192,505 to $210,526 pa (including salary of $162,670 to $177,898 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading)

We are now seeking a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Construction Management and/or Building Surveying to join the Built Environment team within the College of Project Management, Built Environment and Assets & Maintenance Management (CoPBA). In this role, you will contribute to high‑quality teaching, curriculum development, and student support across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. You will help drive innovative, industry‑aligned learning experiences, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and supervise research students.

 

You will also maintain a strong research profile through high‑quality publications, competitive funding and national or international collaborations. Associate Professors will additionally lead research teams, mentor colleagues and guide strategic initiatives across the discipline.

Position Requirements

 

  • Possession of a doctoral qualification (PhD) in Construction Management, Building Surveying or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong research profile, including a proven track record of high-impact peer-reviewed and refereed journals publications in Q1 journals with demonstrated capacity of successful research grant applications.
  • Demonstrated teaching capability in the field of Construction Management and Built Environment, with experience supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students using multi‑modal delivery methods.
  • An understanding and familiarity with the National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Building Legislations
  • Teaching qualification in higher education (or willingness to obtain one), such as Cert IV TAE or a relevant tertiary adult‑education qualification.

 

Additional Requirements for Associate Professor

 

  • Recognised national and international research reputation, demonstrated through sustained competitive external research funding (including ARC Category 1 and 2 grants), high‑quality research outputs, and strong industry collaboration.
  • Successful supervision of Research Higher Degree (RHD) students to completion, with an ability to mentor early‑career researchers
  • Demonstrated leadership and contribution to the Built Environment / Construction Management profession, including involvement in accreditation, national or international program delivery, and professional engagement.
  • Demonstrated professional recognition and service within the Construction Management industry, complemented by proven academic leadership experience and the ability to lead impactful initiatives or teams
