As an Associate Vice President (AVP), play a key leadership role representing the Vice-Chancellor and President and driving CQUniversity’s strategic goals at the local level. You will oversee campus operations in both Gladstone and Bundaberg, supporting staff and student engagement, fostering community connections, and leading initiatives that deliver growth, innovation, and impact across the regions.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Strategic Leadership: Represent the Vice-Chancellor and President and the University within the region, supporting and advancing the University's vision and mission.
  • Business Development & Engagement: Lead the business development and engagement efforts for the campus by identifying and recommending new business opportunities, community partnerships, and innovative course delivery methods to generate revenue and growth for the University.
  • Regional Growth Initiatives: Develop, in close collaboration with the Senior Executive team, unique and sustainable business development opportunities for the region, aligned with the University’s broader vision and strategic plan.
  • Committee Facilitation: Lead region-based committees and forums, providing leadership to staff, facilitating business growth opportunities at specific campus locations and across the region, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Cultural Leadership: Contribute to a positive and high-performance culture across the region through leadership that enhances staff and student experience.

Position Requirements

 

  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications and extensive leadership or business development experience.
  • A deep understanding of community engagement, business development, and strategic delivery in a regional context.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience with proven experience in creating high-performing teams and producing successful outcomes for all stakeholders.
  • support staff and student engagement, foster community connections, and lead initiatives that deliver growth, innovation, and impact across the Wide Bay and Gladstone region.
  • Knowledge of the tertiary education landscape, including VET and higher education systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the Wide Bay and Gladstone Region, with preference for candidates based in Gladstone majority of the time.
