The Indigenous Student Engagement team is located within the Student Success Division. We support learning and wellbeing journey of students by providing the first point of contact for current and prospective Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students seeking information, referral and advice about services, courses and support available at CQUniversity.

 

In this role, you will support and contribute to the development, planning and implementation of Indigenous specific pathways projects and build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders with the aim to increase the participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adult learners. You will be a high-involvement team member who enjoys working in a participative and empowered environment and will collaborate and cooperate with other departments to achieve positive business outcomes.

Position Requirements

 

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and societies, and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
  • An understanding of equity and social justice principles.
  • Knowledge of or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the Indigenous Student Success Program (ISSP) and its current guidelines.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in the operation of Microsoft Office Software, web browsers and online Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Using well-developed written communication skills including ability to prepare quality and accurate documentation. 
  • Knowledge or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of CQUniversity’s policies, procedures, and current legislation relevant to the higher education sector. 
  • Using excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and experience in dealing with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
