Working at CQUniversity
We are seeking a capable and organised professional to support research projects at CQUniversity’s Coastal Marine Ecosystems Research Centre (CMERC), based at the Gladstone Marina. CMERC is the only coastal and marine research facility in Central Queensland, leading applied research in seagrass restoration, coastal resilience and blue-economy sustainability in partnership with industry, communities and Traditional Owners.
In this role, you will manage daily operations, coordinate logistics for fieldwork and project delivery, organise community engagement activities, oversee procurement, support infrastructure development and ensure compliance with governance and safety requirements. You will also prepare reports and contribute to planning and implementation across multiple funded marine research projects. Your work will directly support the success and impact of CMERC’s research initiatives.

Position Requirements
- Ability to quickly learn and apply relevant policies and procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, MS Project and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time independently, solve problems and work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
- Experience coordinating projects in environmental conservation, research or sustainability (desirable).
- Ability to hold and maintain a current First Aid Certificate, including CPR.
- Hold or be eligible to obtain a current Blue Card.
