Join the Coastal Marine Ecosystems Research Centre (CMERC) as a Senior Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Restoration Ecology and play a key role in safeguarding one of the world’s most remarkable natural wonders – the Great Barrier Reef.

As a Senior Post-doctoral Research Fellow at CMERC, you will contribute to research that focuses on protecting and rehabilitating seagrass ecosystems within the Great Barrier Reef Ecosystem. Your work will be part of a broader initiative to develop innovative, evidence-based strategies for coastal habitat restoration and ecosystem management in the southern Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.

Position Requirements

 

  • Hold a relevant doctoral qualification or equivalent qualifications or research experience.
  • Some post-doctoral research experience which has resulted in publications, conference papers, reports or professional or technical contributions which give evidence of research ability.
  • Proficiency in seagrass ecology and/or restoration ecology.
  • A solid understanding of ecological principles and processes.
