Your week

 

  • 36.25 hrs/week (full-time) including teaching, preparation, marking, student support and/or other required duties.
  • Teaching time is typically 22 hrs/week, with up to 25 hrs/week by agreement (no more than 9 teaching hours in a day). Overtime may apply where you are formally required to teach above agreed hours.
  • Preparation and marking are included in your paid hours – not done in your own time.
  • Flexible start and finish times, planned around teaching needs, with flexibility supported where possible to accommodate personal, family and carer responsibilities.

What you’ll need

 

  • Relevant trade qualification, such as Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
  • Current hands‑on industry experience in mechanical trade work, including fitting, machining, equipment maintenance, and safe workshop practices.
  • An interest in mentoring apprentices, sharing your knowledge, and guiding learners in both workshop and classroom settings.
  • No teaching experience required - only a willingness to work in a structured setting with assessment, documentation and student support.
