CQUniversity’s School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Sciences is seeking a highly motivated academic to join our team as a Senior Lecturer in Domestic and Family Violence. In this role, you will contribute significantly to advancing research, education, and sector development in alignment with CQUniversity’s strategic priorities and Queensland Government gendered violence reform initiatives.

 

Collaborating with the Queensland Centre for Domestic and Family Violence Research, academic colleagues, and community stakeholders, you will lead impactful research projects, supervise postgraduate students, and contribute to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will also engage in professional activities, publish research outputs, and build strong relationships with students, industry, and the community to foster meaningful change in this critical field.

 

If successful in this role, you will also be expected to take on the position of Head of Course or a similar leadership role within the School for a three-year period from the time of appointment. This added responsibility provides an opportunity to shape the direction of courses and contribute to strategic leadership within the School.

Position Requirements

 

  • Hold a doctoral qualification (PhD) plus significant experience in the relevant discipline.
  • Strong expertise in gendered violence and the associated service systems.
  • Skilled in teaching and supervising university students, with experience in multi-modal delivery methods.
  • Proven ability to engage with higher education colleagues to address professional and educational issues to support student success.
  • Established research track record with published outputs and leadership in research teams.
