Working at CQUniversity
This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety. You’ll support the day-to-day operation of our campuses, from setting up events and relocating offices and furniture, to assisting trades staff, carrying out general maintenance and keeping our grounds neat and well maintained.
You’ll work across a range of tasks and environments, using equipment such as mowers and whipper-snippers, helping with minor repairs and maintenance, supporting deliveries and responding to jobs as they arise. No two days are likely to look the same.
We’re looking for someone who is practical, reliable and takes pride in their work. You’ll need to be comfortable working independently, as part of a team and outdoors, with the flexibility to respond to changing priorities and the occasional urgent job.
If you enjoy being active, solving practical problems and seeing the results of a job well done, we’d love to hear from you.
Be Rewarded
- 17% superannuation (with the choice to join an award-winning superfund)
- 5.4 weeks annual leave (plus 3 working days paid at Christmas and New Year closure)
- 10 days personal/sick leave, plus 5 days carer’s leave
- 7.25 hours engaged service leave
- Fantastic professional and career development opportunities
- Access to an Employee Assistance Program and Fitness Passport
- Flexible working hours – alternate between early‑finish (6:30am–2:15pm) and standard day shifts (8:00am–4:00pm)
Position Requirements
- Perform a wide range of tasks, including basic maintenance and servicing of tools and equipment such as mowers, whipper-snippers and irrigation systems.
- Maintain campus grounds to ensure they remain clean, tidy and presentable.
- Perform a broad range of general services, including furniture relocations, fleet vehicle cleaning, event and function setup, and basic grounds maintenance.
- Work in compliance with Workplace Health and Safety regulations.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
