The International Directorate sits in the Student Success Division and is responsible for CQUniversity Australia's international activity. The priority focus of the operations is recruiting international students to the University, with the Directorate also responsible for several other functions including recruitment, agent governance, agency and academic partnerships, marketing and communications and campaigns, international student enquiry and admissions management, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. 

 

CQUniversity is looking for a driven and strategic International Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will spearhead marketing, recruitment, and partnership initiatives, ensuring successful student enrolments and business growth for the University in this key region.

 

This leadership role requires an individual with strong business acumen, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for expanding international opportunities for the university. The position will be responsible for leading a team focused on the entire international student lifecycle, from recruitment to enrolment, ensuring the achievement of regional student enrolment and business development targets.

 

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the strategy and execution of student recruitment, conversion, and partnership development for Southeast Asia.
  • Manage an international recruitment team, set performance targets, and drive results.
  • Represent CQUniversity at major recruitment events and collaborate with global partners.
  • Provide strategic advice and performance data to senior leadership to optimise enrolment outcomes.

Position Requirements

  • A relevant degree with 4+ years of experience in international student recruitment or business development.
  • Proven success in international student recruitment and achieving targets in a complex, competitive environment.
  • High level skills in consulting, negotiating and communicating professionally with a range of people at all levels and from diverse cultures both internally and externally.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and sales skills.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and experience managing academic partnerships.
  • Occasional travel and working outside of standard business hours to maintain international relationships.
  • Fluency in one or more Southeast Asian languages. (Desirable)
