We are seeking a passionate individual to take on the role of Laboratory Supervisor / Instructor to support school-based research, teaching, and commercial activities across multiple locations, with a primary focus on ICT in addition to other School of Engineering and Technology activities. In this role, you will provide a broad range of ICT technical expertise and support, oversee specialist technical facilities, resources and equipment, apply your technical skills and knowledge in the analysis, design and production of systems, experiments and equipment and be involved in calibrating and repairing specialised equipment.   

Position Requirements

 

  • A degree or Certificate IV in a relevant field, coupled with relevant experience; While ICT background is preferred, a similar engineering qualification with experience of ICT will be considered or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training; or hold current relevant trade qualification and applicable licences.
  • Proven experience delivering specialist technical support including facilities and equipment management, planning, stock control, asset management, maintenance and repairs across the school disciplines.  The candidate must have an understanding of and carry out their duties in line with relevant Australian Standards, codes and legislation, especially Work Health and Safety requirements.
  • Proven experience using high level interpersonal skills to communicate and consult effectively with clients, contractors, students and staff at all levels.
  • Proficiency in the use of specialised skills applicable to the technical and scientific nature of the position.
  • Working autonomously or as part of a small team to complete tasks and prioritise work to meet inflexible deadlines with minimal supervision with occasional interstate travel to support school activities.
