  • Fixed Term (until December 2025), Part Time (0.8 FTE – 58 hrs/fortnight)
  • School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Sciences
  • Woorabinda, Longreach, Emerald, Biloela, Rockhampton, Gladstone or Townsville
  • $52.10 to $57.72 per hour (plus 17% superannuation) 
  • Progression beyond Teacher Step 4 will only occur if an approved teaching qualification has been obtained.

The School of Nursing, Midwifery, and Social Sciences offers a range of TAFE courses and degrees designed with industry input to produce job-ready graduates. Our innovative education benefits students, industries, and communities nationwide, with multiple locations across Australia.

We are seeking a passionate Vocational Education and Training (VET) educator to join the Rural and Remote Pilot (RRP) Project team to deliver the Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care. Ideally based at one of the Hub locations in Woorabinda, Longreach, Biloela or Emerald, you will develop and deliver an outcome-focused vocational program that meets the real-world demands of our rural and remote students.

You will collaborate with students, community members, internal and industry stakeholders to deliver high-quality learning services, and maintain current industry practices and teaching methods to ensure our education remains relevant and effective.

Position Requirements

 

  • Diversity in the workforce.
  • The ability to collaborate and cooperate with other departments to achieve positive business outcomes.
  • Knowledge of the education and training sector and the ability to positively respond to new directions and demands of the training market.
  • Possession of relevant vocational qualification/s at the level equivalent to or higher than the level to be delivered: industry qualification (certificate, trade certificate, diploma, degree or masters).
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or a Diploma or higher level qualification in adult education, or equivalent, or a qualification that enables registration as a secondary school teacher in any state or territory plus the Assessor Skill Set or VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set.
  • Demonstrated capacity for best practice in the management of teaching and learning activities including delivery, assessment and evaluation. 
  • Demonstrated current industry skills directly relevant to the training/assessment being undertaken.
  • Depending on your location, regular travel to a RRP location will be required (Woorabinda, Longreach, Biloela or Emerald). May include air travel.
