The Queensland Future Skills (QFS) is a partnership between BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA), TAFE Queensland and CQUniversity Australia that is focused on delivering tomorrow’s skills to regional and remote mining communities today.

This Expression of Interest calls for a casual TAFE teacher to deliver ICT and Networking units as part of the Certificate II in Autonomous Technologies (10935NAT) - a newly accredited vocational qualification, providing multiple pathways into further vocational or tertiary studies.

 

About the Role

 

This exciting and rewarding role will see you travel across the Isaac region to a range of school locations, such as Moranbah, Dysart, and Blackwater to deliver two units of competency, which are specifically designed to develop the ICT and Networking skills required to enter and work within the fields of autonomous environments.

 

The role commences late August and runs through to mid-December 2021, with no requirement to deliver during term breaks. The learning content and assessment material exist on a Learning Management System. Your role is to familiarise yourself with the content, contextualise the delivery to suit a Grade 10 audience, and develop the trainer and student plans to support this.

Position Requirements

 

We are looking for people who have the following attributes and experience:

 

Essential

  • An approved Degree, Diploma or Certificate in a relevant vocational area or approved equivalent qualifications, approved industry experience and the ability to demonstrate currency in vocational workplace competencies.

  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus the following units: either TAELLN411 or TAELLN401A, and either TAEASS502 or TAEASS502A or TAEASS502B. Or a Diploma in Training and Assessment

  • Employee Queensland Working with Children (Blue Card) and satisfactory Police Check prior to commencement.

  • Knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Learning Management Systems. Cisco Packet Tracer is a definite advantage.

 

Desired

  • Knowledge of both the Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Higher Education sectors.

  • Residential proximity to the Isaac Region, Mackay, Rockhampton, Gladstone

  • No special licensing, legislative or certification required
