About the Position

 

In this senior leadership role, you will help steer the direction of agricultural research at CQUniversity. Working closely with the Director and research cluster leads, you will shape and deliver strategic initiatives, oversee complex operations, and strengthen partnerships that broaden the impact and relevance of the Institute’s work.

 

You will facilitate the development of major funding proposals, guide research planning and performance, and play a key role in positioning CQUniversity at the forefront of national and international agricultural research. With a strong foundation in building and managing partnerships in the agricultural industry, you will draw on your skills in project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment with institutional priorities and sector needs.

Position Requirements

 

  • Strong knowledge of current agricultural research, with the ability to engage effectively with industry, government, and community stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership in strategic planning and communications, supported by strong expertise in project management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience, or equivalent management expertise gained through education and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated success in building partnerships and securing funding, with strengths in strategic, financial, and resource planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop high-quality proposals, reports, and professional stakeholder correspondence.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and consistently meet deadlines while maintaining high standards.
