The Commercial Services Directorate drives the University’s commercial and student residential services portfolio to support performance and strategic growth, leading initiatives across business development, financial planning, governance, and operational performance. The Directorate partners closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver sustainable commercial outcomes that support CQUniversity’s long term vision.
As the Executive Officer, you will work closely with the Director - Commercial Services to provide high level strategic advice, analytical insight, and executive support. You will lead complex projects, prepare business cases and financial analyses, coordinate governance and committee processes, and contribute to strategic and budget planning. Acting as a trusted adviser, you will engage confidently with senior leaders and external stakeholders, exercising sound judgement in complex and sensitive matters.

Position Requirements
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks effectively.
- Experience leading or supporting teams, with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Knowledge of compliance, governance, and risk management principles relevant to the role.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
- Postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience, or significant professional and management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
