Are you passionate about improving educational outcomes for First Nations Peoples and impacting future generations? CQUniversity is seeking a motivated individual to join the Indigenous Student Engagement team and complete a variety of student support activities for the Rural and Remote Pilot (RRP) Project. This project involves the face-to-face delivery of various health-related Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses to students in Emerald, Woorabinda, Longreach and Biloela.

In this role, you will regularly travel to the RRP locations and use your effective communication skills to work in collaboration with the Project team to advise students, triage enquiries, and coordinate tutorial assistance to support course retention and completion.

Position Requirements

 

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and societies, and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work, meet deadlines and resolve administrative or client- related problems with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated initiative, excellent time management, problem-solving, and well-developed written communication skills for preparing quality and accurate documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with experience engaging a broad range of stakeholders, including work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Regular travel to the Rural and Remote Pilot locations will be required (Woorabinda, Longreach, Biloela and Emerald).
