As Leader - Library Student and Academic Engagement, you will lead a team of Research and Academic Engagement Librarians and Client Services Librarians who deliver high-quality services, programs and expertise across the University. You will drive innovation in library engagement, champion excellent client experiences and ensure our services continue to meet the evolving needs of our diverse university community.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced library leader who combines strategic thinking with a passion for people leadership. You will influence service direction, build team capability, strengthen stakeholder partnerships and contribute to initiatives that improve student success and research outcomes.

 

As a member of the Library Leadership Team, you will play a key role in shaping the future of CQUniversity Library and its contribution to the University's strategic objectives.

What You’ll Bring

 

You'll be able to demonstrate:

 

  • Extensive contemporary academic library experience, including leadership across teaching, learning and/or research support.
  • Proven experience leading teams, developing people and managing service delivery in a complex organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of information and AI literacy and the evolving role of academic libraries.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement, service innovation and change.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to contribute to and influence strategic initiatives, projects and service direction.

Qualifications

 

You will possess:

 

  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience in library, information management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Eligibility for associate or allied membership with the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).
