We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our Education Quality and Integrity Directorate (EQID) as Manager – Educational Quality and Academic Integrity.

 

In this pivotal role, you will ensure CQUniversity maintains the highest standards of educational quality and compliance across both Higher Education and Vocational Education and Training (VET). You will oversee quality assurance initiatives aligned with TEQSA, ASQA, CRICOS and other regulatory frameworks, lead the development and implementation of the University’s educational quality framework, and manage audit, compliance and accreditation activities. A key focus of this role is championing academic integrity by driving strategies, policies and investigations that position CQUniversity as a sector leader in the detection, prevention and response to breaches, while supporting a high-quality online education experience for students.

 

You will manage the VET Quality Unit and Academic Integrity Unit, ensuring policies, procedures and systems meet academic standards and legislative requirements. Your responsibilities include maintaining compliance registers, overseeing external referencing and benchmarking, preparing submissions for regulatory bodies, and providing expert advice on academic misconduct investigations, including contract cheating. In addition, you will mentor and lead staff, fostering professional development and team performance, while actively engaging in governance and reporting to senior executives and committees.

Position Requirements

 

  • A relevant degree with at least four years of subsequent experience, or extensive expertise in academic misconduct and integrity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with tertiary education regulatory bodies and the ability to implement policies and procedures surrounding academic misconduct into University teaching and learning practices.
  • Proven experience investigating and reporting academic integrity matters within the tertiary education sector.
  • An understanding of current academic misconduct issues, trends and strategies in both higher education and the VET sector with the ability to engage and work effectively with colleagues across the University.
  • Successful assessment of a Fit and Proper Person Declaration under the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator (Compliance Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations and Fit and Proper Person Requirements) Instrument 2025.
