CQUniversity’s People and Culture Directorate delivers quality human resources services, supporting staff across payroll, recruitment, employee relations and workforce development. This includes ensuring compliance with employment legislation and enterprise agreements, accurate payroll delivery and fostering a positive workplace culture.

 

As Payroll Team Leader, you will lead a high-performing payroll team to ensure accurate, timely processing of payroll for all staff. Your primary objective will be to mentor and guide team members, maintain compliance with legislation and enterprise agreements, and resolve complex payroll queries. You will work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders to ensure data integrity, operational efficiency and continuous process improvement.

 

We are seeking a proactive, detail-focused professional with strong leadership skills and extensive payroll experience, ideally with knowledge of systems such as Apay/Ascender or SAP Success Factors.

Position Requirements

 

  • Demonstrated experience leading operational teams and mentoring staff to achieve high performance.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and enterprise agreements.
  • Proven ability to manage complex processes and deliver accurate, timely and compliant outcomes.
  • High-level analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills with a focus on process improvement.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., Apay/Ascender or SAP Success Factors) and MS Office applications.
