Working at CQUniversity

CQUniversity is looking for a Planning and Forecasting Analyst to join our high-performing Business Intelligence Analytics team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on turning complex data into meaningful insights that shape strategic, financial and operational decisions.

You’ll play a key part in student load planning and forecasting across both Higher Education (HE) and Vocational Education and Training (VET), helping the University anticipate future demand and make confident, evidence-based choices. You’ll engage with a wide range of stakeholders, from faculties and finance to admissions, strategy and government reporting teams, to understand their planning and reporting requirements.

We’re looking for someone who brings strong analytical capability, curiosity and a collaborative mindset. You’ll contribute to continuous improvement, support colleagues with advice on forecasting assumptions, student load metrics and help strengthen data governance and modelling practices. You’ll communicate your findings through clear, compelling reports and visualisations that support leaders across the University.

If you enjoy solving complex problems, building strong relationships and delivering insights, this is a chance to grow your career in a supportive, values-driven environment.

  • Knowledge of R or Python.
  • Understanding of HE and VET funding models, reporting requirements and regulatory environments.
  • Experience in student load planning, enrolment forecasting or institutional planning within an Australian university or TAFE context.
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets from student management or enterprise systems.
  • Experience in Machine Learning/Predictive Analytics.
  • Experience in AI based exploration of data.
