CQUniversity Library delivers digital library services differently. In this position you will be a member of the Student and Academic Engagement team proactively engaging with staff and students to promote an increased understanding of library services that support teaching, learning and research. You will provide advice and education on the use of information resources and systems in teaching and research, research data management practices, scholarly publishing and open access, and copyright. Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Engaging with staff and students to foster an increased understanding of library services and resources and advocating broadly for open scholarship and open education practices.
  • Providing user-centred general and subject discipline-specific research advice and support to staff and students, via consultations, workshops, and online materials. Evaluating information and digital literacy programs and support material in collaboration with stakeholders and specialist library staff.
  • Providing advice and support for researchers on data management plans, scholarly communication and copyright, metrics and open access, systematic searching and filtering.
  • Contributing to the resolution of complex information queries from students and staff through the tiered library service model.

 

You will be joining a supportive team environment and will be provided with training and mentoring to ensure your success in this position.

 

We currently have two available positions, one of which specialises in Copyright. In this role, you will serve as the University's designated Copyright Officer, requiring a strong understanding of copyright legislation. Please specify your preferred position in the pre-screening questions.

Position Requirements

 

  • Eligible for associate, or allied field membership with the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).
  • Knowledge of academic scholarly communications, open scholarship and copyright
  • Knowledge of contemporary research methods and the ability to critically examine and filter research literature across a range of disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts, convey information in a non-technical manner and consult with a diverse range of internal and external clients.
