CQUniversity’s People and Culture Directorate delivers quality human resources services, supporting staff across payroll, recruitment, employee relations and workforce development. This includes ensuring compliance with employment legislation and enterprise agreements, accurate payroll delivery and fostering a positive workplace culture.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of payroll compliance and wage integrity frameworks across the university.
In this pivotal role, you will ensure payroll operations align with the CQUniversity Enterprise Agreement, Australian payroll legislation, superannuation obligations, and Fair Work Ombudsman requirements. You’ll mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Position Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Fair Work Act, superannuation, and Enterprise Agreements.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or substantial payroll compliance experience.
- Proven ability to lead wage integrity audits and remediation projects.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience supervising a team.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex legislation and industrial instruments.
- Familiarity with Apay/Ascender or SAP Success Factors. (Desirable)
