Do you have a passion for agriculture and are looking for a role where you can drive a research project within this industry? We are seeking a motivated person to manage and undertake a funded project aimed at developing and emerging spice industry in Northern Australia.
In this role you will implement the ‘Great Northern Spices Project’ research plan, managing field trials and partners across Northern Australia. You will undertake a range of activities from managing field experiments, conducting laboratory analyses, collaborating and engaging with partners and extending research results through a variety of mediums such as peer-reviewed journal articles, conferences, grower guides, industry reports, BMP manuals, newsletters and field days.
In collaboration with CQU Cropping research team members, you will prepare research proposals for submission to external and/or to appoint Research Higher Degree (RHD) students to undertake research in areas related to this project.
This position provides a motivated and organised person the opportunity to make a significant impact in the development of emerging cropping industries for Northern Australia.
Position Requirements
- Completion of a postdoctoral degree in a field related to the research project (eg. agricultural science, plant science or another relevant discipline area).
- Conduct independent research within your discipline as part of a team and produce conference and seminar papers and publications from that research.
- Advising within the field of the staff member’s research to postgraduate students.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently under limited supervision.
- ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
- The successful candidate will be required to undertake travel to Central and North QLD, Northern Territory and Western Australia
