CQUniversity’s Facilities Management Directorate (DFM) plays a key role in maintaining safe, functional and well-presented campuses. Join our team in a hands-on role supporting our Sydney and metro campuses, where you will coordinate daily maintenance, assist with minor projects and work with contractors to maintain safe and efficient campus operations.

 

The successful candidate will have the physical capability and readiness to meet the demands of the position. Your duties will include:

 

  • General maintenance and repairs (painting, minor carpentry, basic plumbing and lighting fixes).
  • Use of hand tools, battery-operated equipment and ladders.
  • Furniture moves, room setup and campus event support.
  • Coordinating and supervising contractors and maintenance works.
  • Supporting campus security systems (access control and CCTV).
  • Monitoring maintenance schedules, work orders and budgets.
  • Maintaining records in the Maintenance Management System (Archibus).
  • Administrative tasks, including data entry, invoice processing and reporting.

Position Requirements

 

  • Knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety management strategies and legislative requirements.
  • Knowledge in the use of computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, Access Control/CCTV System (Integriti) and Maintenance Management System (Archibus).
  • Demonstrated understanding of a range of financial and quality management functions including assisting with the preparation of forecast reports and quality assurance processes.
  • Basic handyman/trade skills, knowledge and physical capability to perform operational duties using hand and battery-operated tools: maintenance, repairs, furniture and equipment moves and other physical tasks as required individually and in a team.
  • Ability to manage and foster a customer service culture and apply communication and negotiation skills when liaising with a wide range of customers and colleagues.
  • Current manual Driver’s Licence.
