CQUniversity’s School of Medical and Applied Sciences is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced academic to contribute to the delivery and development of our Medical Laboratory Science programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

 

As a Senior Lecturer in Medical Laboratory Science, you will play a key role in shaping the future of pathology education by leading teaching and curriculum development across Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Haematology, Immunology, Clinical Biochemistry, and Transfusion Science. Working closely with employers, placement providers, and professional bodies, you’ll ensure quality clinical placements and maintain accreditation standards. This role also involves contributing to research, supervising honours and postgraduate students, delivering residential schools across campuses, and fostering strong industry and community partnerships.

Position Requirements

 

  • Completion of a post-graduate degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., medical or biomedical sciences.
  • Significant (> 5 years) recent post-graduate experience in a NATA accredited diagnostic pathology laboratory.
  • Current registration or eligibility for professional membership with a relevant professional body (e.g., AIMS, ASM, AACB).
  • Proven ability to design, develop, and deliver lectures, seminars, and practical classes in at least one diagnostic pathology discipline.
  • Demonstrated capacity to engage and network effectively with industry and community partners to support placements and accreditation.
  • Possession of a relevant PhD, or currently enrolled and progressing toward completion, or equivalent expertise in a related discipline (Desirable).
